Joan Finnegan Art

Joan Finnegan is an artist born and raised in Galway on the west coast of Ireland where she is still based. She graduated with a BA Fine Art from the Centre for Creative Arts and Media, Galway and was awarded an Academic Achievement Award at graduation.

She is currently collaborating with Connemara Carpets, an artisan of exclusive handmade wool and silk rugs and wall-hangings, creating a series of wall-hangings for their new collection

‘Sunset I’ was selected by the RUA for their 139th annual Royal Academy Exhibition which opened in the Ulster Museum, Belfast in October.  

‘Eventide’ was part of the ‘Winter Exhibition’ at the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon.

Solo exhibition inspired by the beauty and colours of Connemara.

Joan Finnegan is a painter who is inspired by the world around her.  Her paintings originate from all sources; from photographs taken of the Great Plains, to an image of an old stepwell in India, to the environment around her daily. Read more about Joan’s professional work below.
